There's a learning curve, and it's messy at first. Seriously messy. Water everywhere, pressure too intense, weird sensation that takes getting used to. If you expect to master this immediately, you'll get frustrated. It also burns through water quickly while you're figuring out proper technique.

What You'd Normally Get at This Price

At $24.97, you'd typically find basic corded models or cheaper battery versions that die after six months. The established Waterpik equivalents run $60-80 retail. Philips has comparable models starting around $45.

Worth noting that this price point usually means compromising on either portability, battery life, or pressure options. The D52 delivers on all three, which honestly caught me off guard.
